A little bit about me
I’m Wendy Nickell, a Las Vegas-based Board Certified Functional Nutritionist specializing in functional nutrition and natural health. I’ve spent more than 26 years helping people understand what their bodies are asking for and how to support their health in practical, sustainable ways.
I look at symptoms, health history, lifestyle patterns, lab work, and individual biochemistry to create recommendations that fit each person’s goals and level of commitment. I also use clinician-level research tools that provide current, evidence-based information to help identify underlying imbalances and guide clear, effective next steps.

My story
I sat on that exam table in my twenties, staring at a closed door.
I’d gone to a dermatologist for a stubborn case of severe acne. He gave me medication and I trusted him, because that’s what you do. But four months later, the acne was still there and the side effects were new problem all their own. So I asked him a simple question. What else can we try?
He looked at me and said, “This is what we do.” Then he walked out.
I just sat there. No plan. No next step. Nobody willing to dig any deeper than the prescription pad.
That’s the moment I decided I’d have to become my own detective. If nobody else was going to investigate what was really going on in my body, I would. I started spending my free time in libraries, reading everything I could get my hands on. I also made the rounds to every health food store in the city. There were seven of them at the time, and I picked the brain of every herbalist I could find.
Turns out that wasn’t quite enough. My body needed more than herbs and good intentions.
I dealt with ADHD and hyperthyroid in my formative years (undiagnosed), anorexia nervosa as a young adult, debilitating menses pain, then peri and menopause symptoms. Every single one of those experiences taught me something I now use to help my clients. I found my way back to health, not by luck, but by learning to read my own body like a case file. These days, I’m in a genuinely good place, and I’m a better practitioner for everything I’ve been through.
What started as me trying to save myself turned into something I truly love. Library research only gets you so far, so I went and got real training. I became a Certified Functional Health Coach and a Functional Nutrition Therapy Practitioner.
That was over 26 years ago, and I’m still on the case.
These days I work with women who see themselves in my story. Women who are tired of hearing “this is just what we do” and want someone to actually look for the root cause. I build personalized nutrition plans, whether that’s keto, paleo-keto, AIP, or plant-based anti-inflammatory, depending on what your body is trying to tell me.
I learned the hard way that healing rarely shows up in a pill bottle. It shows up when you finally understand your own body well enough to advocate for it. That’s the work I do now, every single day. I am a Health Detective.

I continue my education so I can bring the most current nutrition science to my clients. My background allows me to evaluate lab work, review supplements and medications, identify nutrient depletion patterns, and develop nutrition strategies based on each individual’s unique needs.
How I work
I spend the time needed to help my clients understand why certain changes matter and how those changes support their body. I focus on biochemical individuality because there is no single diet or method that works for everyone. My goal is to help clients make steady progress and learn how to support their health for life.
Many clients start noticing improvements quickly because their plan is designed specifically for their needs. I teach people how to work with their bodies, not against them, so they can experience better energy, improved digestion, clearer thinking, and more day to day balance.
A message from me
I want to be your body’s advocate.
I know how frustrating it is to feel like you’re doing everything right and still not getting answers. My hope is that when we work together, you’ll leave each appointment understanding your body a little better and feeling confident about the next steps.
